The dedicated leaders who guide ANPA-DMV’s mission of professional excellence and community impact.
Dear ANPA-DMV Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
It is with immense pride, deep gratitude, and a profound sense of purpose that I introduce myself as the incoming Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas — DMV Chapter (ANPA-DMV) for the term 2026–2028. I am truly honored by the trust and confidence our members have placed in me, and I am committed to serving this remarkable organization with the dedication it deserves.
My Vision for 2026–2028
As we embark on this new chapter together, my tenure will be guided by three core pillars:
1. Building and Growing Our Membership
A thriving organization is built on the strength of its people. I will prioritize active recruitment of new members — physicians, residents, and medical students of Nigerian heritage across the DMV region — while deepening engagement with our existing membership. We will create opportunities that make membership in ANPA-DMV both meaningful and rewarding, fostering a sense of belonging and professional brotherhood and sisterhood.
2. Community Involvement and Outreach
ANPA-DMV has always been more than a professional association — we are a pillar of the community. We will expand our health outreach initiatives, deepen our engagement with underserved communities, and increase our visibility as advocates for health equity. Whether through free health screenings, community forums, or mentorship of the next generation of Nigerian-American physicians, we will make our presence felt and our impact undeniable.
3. Strategic Fundraising and Financial Sustainability
Drawing on my experience as a member of the Fundraising and Sponsorship Gala Committee, I will lead efforts to diversify and grow our financial base. A financially strong ANPA-DMV can do more — more scholarships, more programs, more community impact. We will build on the success of our Annual Gala while exploring new and innovative fundraising avenues that align with our organizational values and vision.
I am acutely aware that leadership is a privilege, not an entitlement, and I do not take lightly the responsibility that has been entrusted to me. I invite every member to be an active participant in this journey. Your ideas, your energy, and your commitment are what will make the 2026–2028 term truly transformational for ANPA-DMV.
Together, we will build, grow, and serve. Together, we will make ANPA-DMV stronger than ever.
With warmth and determination,
Sincerely,
Olabunmi Agboola, MD, FACAAI
Chairman, ANPA-DMV (2026–2028)
